Job Description

The below opportunity is to work with a well known European freight forwarder, with their new offices based on London Gateway port. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team. Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter data provided by our customers into Sequoia
  • Sense check data provided by our customers against required source and advise on potential errors.
  • Create Import/Export declarations through CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight)
  • Create Transit declarations through NCTS (New Computerised Transit System)
  • Deal with any queries effectively and efficiently
  • Help maintain the team mailbox
  • Maintain / develop good working relationships with existing and new customers
  • Establish effective collaborative relationship with Operational team and maintain communication with customers on all customs issues
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the management of the Company.
    • Requirements
  • Experience of working in customs brokerage environment.
  • Knowledge of the HMRC Tariff for a diverse range of product types.
  • Extremely organized with high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with line manager on HMRC ad hoc requirements, procedures, audits etc.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and knowledge of software, such as Word, Excel.
