Job Description

Location: WiganShift patterns:2 on 4 off 15 hour shift pattern - paid as a salary of £18,616-£19,522Integra Healthcare is currently looking for Residential Childrens Worker for our client. The role will entail providing support to young people aged 8-18 with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.Main responsibilities:Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Toworkina positive,respectful, andempoweringway with allyoungpeopleinorder to promotegoodrelationshipsandencourage achievement.
  • Toensure the therapeutic care of young people consistently and proactively.
  • Toact,where appropriate,as key worker toaparticular young person to providesupportandensuretheimplementationoftheir individual care plan.
  • Tointeractonanindividualandgroupbasiswithallyoungpeople.
  • Toactivelyparticipateinsocial,recreational, andeducational activities with theyoungpeople.
  • Toparticipateinandencouragetheparticipationoftheyoungpeopleinthedomestic tasks ofthehomeinordertodeveloptheself-care skills.
  • Totakeanactiveinterestineachyoungpersons educational developmentand achievements.
  • Tomaintain,where appropriate, all necessaryrecordsina timely mannerandtoahighstandard.
  • Toliaiseandcollaborate positively with parents andpartneragenciestoensurethatthebestinterestsoftheyoungpeoplearerespectedand promoted atalltimes.
  • Toremainwellinformedaboutlatest practice,researchpolicyand legislative developmentsinrelationtochildcare.
Skills and Experience:
  • Drivers Licence is necessary
  • Organisational skills to plan workload, good written/verbal communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • A good knowledge base of the needs of the people with disability.
  • A non-discriminatory approach.
  • DBS Update service registered
  • Relevant certifications and qualifications and mandatory training e.g. safeguarding, basic life support
  • Right to work in the UK
