Service/Ward/Department Summary:Healthy Young Minds Tameside and Glossop (HYM T&G) is a CAMH service based in Stalybridge, Tameside. We are a multidisciplinary team providing a mental health service to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with our partner agencies including education, children’s social care and the third sector and is striving to fully align to the Thrive approach to delivering mental health services. We are committed to supporting our staff in their development with access to CPD opportunities, a robust clinical and management supervision structure, and access to a recently developed in-house training programme covering key areas of clinical practice. HYM T&G is also home to the Early Attachment Service which is a nationally recognised, specialist parent-infant mental health and under 5 service.New investment has enabled the creation of an innovative and forward thinking, relationship-focussed and trauma-informed approach to the integration of specialist clinical skills within a quality family intervention service. The HYM clinical team comprised of mental health professionals including clinical psychology and child and adolescent psychotherapy, will be fully embedded within the Family Intervention Service of Children’s Social Care, while also maintaining strong links with the core HYM service. The aim is to ensure timely access to training, consultation, supervision and intervention while simultaneously promoting trauma-informed practice and supporting healthy relationships within our Tameside families.Role Summary:An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop and lead our new and innovative attachment and trauma focussed team, a specialist CAMHS team embedded within the Family Intervention Service.The key role of the post holder will be to drive forward the development and delivery of the new service which will support staff across all levels of the Family Intervention Service in their work with children, young people and their families. Aims will include raising awareness of ACE’s and the impact of relational trauma, offering training, consultation and supervision while at the same time some direct work with young people and their families. The team will maintain close links with the HYM service, and as such there will be an opportunity to develop and maintain core skills including assessment and management of risk, training and the supervision of other staff, for example.Key Responsibilities of the Post:To take a lead role in the development and delivery of this exciting new and innovative service working with support from the management team within both HYM and the Family Intervention Service. To lead on liaison with key stakeholders, recruitment, management and clinical supervision of a small number of other mental health professionals within the specialist team. To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality clinical input to the Family Intervention Service. To supervise and support the assessment and intervention provided by other staff who provide relationship based care and treatment. To offer training, supervision, consultation and intervention. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team. To utilise skills and lead on service evaluation and audit, training, policy and service development as appropriate.Key Requirements of the Person Specification:Registration with the HCPC and previous CAMHS experience is essential for this role.
