Job Description

Please note that this vacancy is not part of Surrey County Council, we are advertising this on behalf of a partnership organisation.Job PurposeA full time role to support the management and delivery of the family centre service in order to provide targeted early intervention and support for families with children aged 0-11 years identified as requiring early help.Work ContextFamily Centres are part of a wider Family Service in Surrey that supports families that are the most vulnerable. Family Centre services are part of a local integrated system that builds family resilience, improving life chances for these children. The post holder will hold a reduced caseload and supervise the team of Family Outreach workers. They will deputise in the absence of the Services manager. The location of services will vary and will be based in different venues across Runnymede Borough.Principle Accountabilities(to include):

  • Work with the Services manager to manage, allocate and review referrals, including assessment of need, risk and safeguarding concerns.
  • Supervise the delivery by the Family Outreach team of family support interventions in the home and community in response to families’ needs.
  • Assist the Family Outreach team to draw up action plans with agreed targets, and to measure progress against these using appropriate tools such as Family Star and Graded Care Profile.
  • Allocate work, monitoring the standard of team performance and ensuring resolution of any issues, taking on a coordinating and supervisory role with staff as directed by the Services manager.
  • Use relevant data and reporting mechanisms to provide regular monitoring and review of services established to facilitate service improvement.
  • The applicant we are looking for:
  • Is educated to a minimum Level 4 Advanced Vocational qualification or considerable on the job experience in a social care field
  • Has experience of collating and maintaining monitoring information
  • Has experience of undertaking complex outreach work within the community
  • Has substantial experience of managing and supervising others
  • Adopts a dynamic approach to challenging casework
  • Is an ambitious professional and has a passionate commitment to supporting others.
