Job Description

This is a fabulous opportunity for a Freight Forwarding Supervisor to join this exciting and rapidly growing established organisation, looking after a shift team.They offer a bespoke and first class logistical service to customers via air, sea and road.Customers are worldwide and include Australia, Canada and the US therefore the organisation operates 24 hour per day.Experience and knowledge of freight forwarding is essential for this position, probably at least 3 years industry experience, and ideally with some supervisory knowledge though this is not essential if the experience is in depth.The role is to manage the team on the midnight shift pattern. This team works through from midnight to 8am, which enables clients worldwide to speak to your team should they want to book a new assignment or query any bookings or shipments.Your team consists of an experienced Freight Forwarder and a customer service advisor.Skills and Experience required

  • Freight Forwarding knowledge and experience of at least 3 years
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Good management skills and a team player
  • Sales / quotation experience and knowledge
  • Great problem solver
  • Able to build relationships at all levels with both customers and suppliers
  • Excellent customer service skills
Duties include
  • Negotiate shipping rates with freight carriers.
  • Ensure correct cargo insurance.
  • Prepare invoices or cost quotations for freight transportation.
  • Verify proper packaging labelling of exported goods.
  • Verify adherence of documentation to customs, insurance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Arrange for applicable duties, taxes, or paperwork for customs clearance.
  • Complete customs paperwork, applicable duties, and taxes for custom clearance.
  • Provide shipment status notification to exporters, consignees, or insurers.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documentation for customs clearance
  • Ensure specific documents are included for dangerous goods transportation
