Job Description

A growing organisation based in Staines are looking to hire an Accountant to support to take ownership of the finance function. This position will initially be available on a fixed term contract for a period of 3-6 months. You will be working within a small finance function and therefore you will be working within an environment where every day offers a different challenge!Reference no HT13392Accountant - About The RoleThis position will be working within a business environment that has demonstrated growth during the past six months as such are looking for an Accountant to initially operate as an Accountant but with the view that if this role is made permanent you will take up a lead position within finance as a Finance Manager.This position will be working alongside one other Accounts Assistant and you will initially focussing on providing support up to Trial Balance.

  • Cash Management
  • Bank Reconciliations & cash Flow forecasting
  • Processing the payroll with the support of a bureau service
  • Manage all customer billing and processing of cash (including customer credit card payments).
  • Timely communication with the business regarding invoices and cash receipts including weekly sales reporting to management
  • Overseeing aged debt to incorporate weekly reviews and writing off bad debt
  • Fixed Assets Prepayments, Accruals, Financing reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts
  • VAT, EC Sales, National Statistics returns
  • Monthly accounts preparation, validation and reporting to management
  • Submission of final accounts to external accountant for production of statutory accounts and Corporation Tax calculation and submission.
    • The successful Accounts Manager will have:The position of an Accountant is a very busy and varied position and therefore would suit someone that has experience of working in both a similar role and business environment. You should have worked as an Accountant and has end-to-end knowledge of a finance function. You will be someone that is looking for their next upward step in their career.You will be either AAT qualified or qualified by experienceYou will be completely fluent in Sage 50 - you will be the go-to person with this package!You must be available immediately to conduct the interview process and commence this contract positionPlease note that the business hours will be 08.00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday. This is an office-based role with no options to work from home.
