Job Description

An exciting role for a proven and forward thinking senior purchasing professionalLeading manufacturing organisationClient DetailsOur client, based in Staffordshire, are part of a global organisation with a strong British heritage who are looking to further strengthen their purchasing team with this senior level hire. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity towork across several business units to deliver better process, systems and resultsDescriptionThis newly created Senior Purchasing Manager role, will play a pivotal role within the Senior Leadership Team with accountability for delivering the strategic category management program which will encompass:

  • Category Strategy Development & Implementation aligned to business objectives
  • Leadership across 3 Purchasing Business Units
  • Driving continuous improvement and transformation
  • Deliver cost effective solutions that meets operational demand
  • Build strong internal relationships to drive change and implement the strategy
ProfileTo be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in a Senior Purchasing capacity within matrix organisation preferably Manufacturing
  • Ability to implement a Category strategy at a global level
  • Cost and pricing management
  • Experience of managing change and performance
  • Strong leader of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills - negotiation, influencing & conflict resolution
  • Commercially minded - contract and supplier management
  • Ideally MCIPS qualified or equivalent
  • Happy to work on-site 5 days per week and with international travel.
Job OfferSalary will be dependent on expereince, but the successful candidate can expect a salary of between £80,000 and £100,000 plus a car allowance & Bonus scheme plus other benefits
