New Product Development Technician Staffordshire Role & Responsibilities Reporting to the Technical Manager, the position will require the successful candidate to: Perform R&D including literature search, sample formulation and analysis. Perform New Product Development from background review to hand-over to Sales Dept for commercialisation, including production of New Product Development masterbatch and compound, film and moulded samples. Provide Technical support to existing and new customers, Production and Sales functions. Support Technical and Sales functions at customers as required. Support Technical Manager with regulatory affairs compliance for new product development, including technical data sheets, SDS and product stewardship documents. Attend appropriate exhibitions/conferences/seminars both within the UK and overseas. Requirements This role would suit a candidate with appropriate experience in a similar manufacturing environment. It is anticipated that candidates will generally fulfil the following requirements, though candidates that can demonstrate suitable other knowledge and experience will be considered, which would include recently qualified graduates of suitable calibre: Degree qualified in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry. Appropriate, suitable experience in a polymer additives and polymer processing role. Experience of twin screw compounding, injection moulding, blown film processes preferable. Understanding and experience of global regulatory affairs, particularly food contact. The role will include also include polymer and polymer additive analysis and as such it would be beneficial for candidates to have experience of techniques such as spectroscopy, thermal analysis and microscopy.
