Job Description

Locum Planning & Highways Lawyer – 3 days per week – £40 to £45 per hour – East MidlandsVenn Group’s specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for aLocum Planning & Highways Lawyerto join aLocal Authoritylegal team intheEast Midlandson aremote-working basis. The assignment will operate over3 days per weekfor an initial period of3 monthswith the possibility of extension thereafter dependent upon workload.The successful applicant will possess a thorough knowledge of planning law and will have managed a caseload of matters within Local Government.Day-to-day duties may include:

  • Drafting commercial leases, statutory transfers and wayleave agreements for property matters
  • Holding responsibility for high volume and complex Section 106 and highways agreements
  • Dealing with highways issues including Section 278 and 38 agreements
  • Defending the status of public highways including High Court and Land Tribunal action
  • Attending planning inquiries and Planning Committees
  • Advising and representing clients in negotiations and discussions
