People who want to do the very best for others, while at the same time making the most of the opportunities and experiences we offer them.We are the countrys largest Armed Forces charity, with 210,000 members, 50,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities; helping us give support wherever and whenever its needed.As an Exhibitions and Participation Officer you will be responsible for producing exhibitions, developing learning programmes on site at the National Memorial Arboretum and offsite outreach programmes.If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

  • Working with the Head of Participation and Learning, produce the exhibitions and arts-based learning programme which is of high quality, engaging and accessible, and drives visitation of new and existing audiences
  • Working with the wider Participation and Learning team, develop complementary activities to support the exhibitions programme (such as artist workshops, talks and seminars)
  • Working with the wider Participation and Learning team, produce and deliver offsite outreach activities
  • Working with the Marketing team, develop marketing opportunities related to exhibition delivery, supporting audience development and engagement
  • Support the development of other exhibitions-related activity and onsite interpretation
  • Identify and develop opportunities for partnership and collaboration
  • Support the planning and preparation of projects, grants and fundraising, and liaising with other relevant departments.
Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum - Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR with some offsite outreach learning programmes. The post will be working Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work when required.This role is subject to relevant employment checks, including Enhanced DBS Clearance.About the National Memorial ArboretumThe Arboretum is the UKs year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. Home to over 350 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continueto serve our country. The 150-acre site features around 30,000 maturing trees and an abundance of wildlife.
