Job Description

The One Group are working with a leading manufacturer of off highway machinery and natural gas and diesel engines and they have an exciting opportunity for an Engine Test Engineer to join the team to carry our Research and Development work on a 12-month contract.The global engine development team in Stafford are responsible for component and engine testing for there customers working on existing products and NPD.The day-to-day duties of the Engine Test Engineer include:

  • Accountable for the delivery of customer engine build and test requirements.
  • Pre-rigging engines into modified gensets in preparation for test cell installation
  • Instrumentation to engineerings request including some fabrication work for boost, coolant and fuelling systems
  • Data measurement, collection, provision of results, use of computerised test bed controls and data acquisition
    • Skills and requirements required for the role include:
  • Mechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, stripping & rebuilding engines, along with a good automotive or off-highway mechanical background.
  • Ability to work to engineers instructions and carry out a range of test work, including fitting prototype parts to an engine and/or record and produce quality data
  • Calibration and fault rectification of engine test equipment and pre-planned or reactive maintenance tasks, while adhering to safety standards and best working practices.
