Job Description

Our prestigious and well-established client is looking for an experienced individual to join their business, providing support to area line managers on HR and employee matters.

  • Work in partnership with line managers to deliver customer focused HR and people related activities
  • Advise and support line managers on the full range of routine and complex employee relations issues up to and including dismissal and appeal level, including investigations, disciplinary’s, grievance, health and wellbeing, absence (short/long term) and performance capability case management, demonstrating good quality discussions and advice for managers
  • Support managers and employees in long term sickness cases, including critical illness, in writing correspondence to employees and service providers such as Occupational Health and EIS referrals, providing advice and guidance and signposting for support
  • Manage all case work in line with organisational procedures, keeping records of activity in the HRIS including ensuring line managers fully document cases and action all elements of people management activity in relevant systems following HR processes and procedure
  • Advise and support managers and employees on queries with terms and conditions, policies, procedures, pay and legislation
  • Manage recruitment activity for area, ensuring all aspects follow procedure and that maximum use is made of all mediums for recruitment to ensure a successful appointment
  • Advise and support managers with the implementation of change plans, including process, consultations, decision making, redeployment, redundancy and settlement agreements through to appeal level, ensuring effective communications through all channels, advising on low level risk within change management projects obtaining internal or external expert legal advice as necessary
  • Ensure any outputs of restructure are managed through the HRIS and that data related to posts is updated and amended as necessary
  • Attend interviews with line managers to ensure high quality recruitment activity is evident in all business areas, advising and guiding on methods and tools to recruit
  • Ensure all systems are updated with business stream activity for KPI to be produced, including Documotive, Carval or other such systems
  • Support with the development, review and implementation of HRIS, processes and data management
  • Job evaluate new and existing posts within the agreed procedures
  • Work with Business Partners to manage any TUPE into and out of the organisation
  • Coordinate bundles for Employment Tribunal (ET) claims, deal with solicitors, managers and support in preparation for court cases, being prepared to give evidence at ET if required
  • Essential Criertia
  • CIPD Associate with at least Level 5 CIPD qualification and Graduate status or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a busy HR office with good knowledge and experience of advising on recruitment and managing a range of employee relations cases (e.g. discipline, sickness absence, employee welfare, capability, investigations, grievances).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and of using HR Databases to obtain reports.
