Job Description

Manual Machinist We are on the lookout for a permanent Manual Machinist within a family run business based in Stafford providing sub-contract machining and fabrication to the manufacturing industry. As Manual Machinist, your main responsibilities will be setting and operating manual machines and borers. You will be required to be safety minded and ensure good quality workmanship that upholds company standards. Further detail of responsibilities is outlinedbelow. As Manual Machinist, you will ideally have a precision engineering background.Further requirements are listed below. Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team or by themselves, setting and operating manual machines, vertical and horizontal borers.
  • Have used Richards Horizontal Borers and Webster & Bennett Vertical Borers
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Use height gauges, micrometres and verniers to accurately measure finished parts.
  • Be safety minded and ensure good quality workmanship that upholds company standards.
Essential:
  • Used to working in a precision engineering manufacturing environment.

The hours for this position are between 6am2pm or 7am3pm, Monday to Thursday and 6am1pm or 7am2pm on Fridays.The salary for this position is £25,000£32,000 per annum, depending on experience. Holiday entitlement is 20 days + 8 bank holidays.The company has a shutdown over the Christmas period. Immediate start date available.
