Job Description

Technician (AutoCAD and SolidWorks) Meyer Scott Ref: VR/08159£25,000 - £32,000, depending on experienceLocation: St NeotsAre you an experienced draughts person with knowledge and experience of SolidWorks 3D CAD SystemThis could be an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing local flatglass rooflights manufacturing business that focuses on delivering great product to its customers - first time, every time!Our client is looking for a full time, experienced Technician to join their busy Technical Team based in St. Neots.It is imperative that you have 3 years SolidWorks and 3 years AutoCAD experience.We are looking to hear from individuals who have:

  • A solid background and experience in producing approval and manufacturing drawings and liaising with sales and production teams
  • A solid experience of regular use of SolidWorks 3D CAD system
  • Some electronics and/ or computer programming experience
  • A working knowledge of modern manufacturing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work to changing priorities
  • A background within electrical/ mechanical manufacturing and have experience of various manufacturing techniques (desired)
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (desired)
  • Knowledge of surface treatments and painting of metals (desired)
  • Experience in dimensional and quality inspection (desired)
  • Knowledge of thermal modelling software (desired)
  • Knowledge of FEA structural analysis (desired)
    • You will be able to demonstrate resilience and flexibility as well as strong work ethic and great organisation and prioritisation skills as well as MS Office expertise.You will report to their Technical Manager and get involved in:
  • Supporting the sales team and provide excellent customer service by producing a variety of drawings in AutoCAD, including approval drawings and manufacturing drawings
  • Supporting product design and development by translating innovative solutions into fully developed specifications and 3D models
  • Supporting product testing
  • Maintaining continuous awareness of competitors products and industry developments
  • Analysing test data including report production based upon results
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with the ISO9001 accreditation
  • Liaising directly with Customers, Sales, and Production Departments
  • Assisting in the management of the supply chain
    • It is imperative that you have 3 years SolidWorks and 3 years AutoCAD experience.This is a busy and varied role where no two days are the same, but you will be offered training and support where needed.The role is based in St Neots. Working hours are 8.30am to 4.45pm Monday - Thursday, 08.30am to 4.00pm Friday. No weekendsBenefits:
