Job Description

Assay Development Leader – Cambridgeshire – Medtech – Competitive Basic & PackageOur client is seeking for an experienced Assay Development Leader to join their team in a permanent, full time basis at their new premises in Cambridgeshire. Our client focuses in developing and manufacturing medical devices. This is an opportunity to join an early stage but rapidly growing MedTech company and to share in their success as they grow. As the Assay Development Leader, you will be responsible for the development of Lateral Flow Immunoassays.The role:

  • Investigate new technologies
  • Conduct feasibility studies
  • Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes and equipment
  • Processing and analysing results and data
  • Writing technical reports and specifications, and maintaining appropriate records
  • Lead the development of lateral flow immunoassay
  • Lead and conduct the validation and verification activities of the assays
  • Lead the Product Transfer of the assays
  • Prepare written SOPs for laboratory methods, procedures and instrumentation
  • Input necessary material into the design file and ensure regulatory data is correctly logged
  • Provide information and help prepare publication documents for journal submission
  • Manage Scientists and Technicians withing the team
  • The person:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • PhD in a related field
  • Project Management
  • Line Management
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a diagnostics / medical devices company
  • Previous experience in research and development of lateral flow immunoassays
  • Previous experience in conjugation of proteins on latex or gold nanoparticles
  • Previous experience working under ISO13485
  • Have strong communication, interpretation and presentation abilities
  • Be passionate about technology, healthcare and entrepreneurship
  • Be an excellent written and oral communicator
  • Be driven, motivated and organised
  • Be a team player with demonstrable leadership potential
  • Be a quick learner willing to throw themselves into new challenges
