Job Description

The HireWorks are currently working with a Global Company to assist with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer.The purpose of the role is to maintain service and improve plant on site. This involves fault finding in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process problems.As a Maintenance Engineer your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist with carrying out planned and routine maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures and safe systems of work are followed;
  • Ensuring that statutory maintenance and testing obligations are undertaken and records kept up to date;
  • Installation of new plant, machinery and equipment and making sure existing plant, machinery and equipment runs smoothly;
  • Responding to site requests via the work request system, including but not limited to, and site facilities;
  • Statutory testing on building systems, including but not limited to, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems and recording of testing;
  • Performing daily housekeeping around the site;
  • Requirement to occasionally work out of hours when maintenance tasks cannot be completed during core hours;
  • Portable Appliance Testing;
  • General handyman tasks as an when required;
  • Dealing with plumbing and drainage issues;
  • Assisting with manual handling, moving furniture and other items as and when required whilst assisting with internal desk moves.
  • Regular liaison with internal departments and contractors.
Role Requirements:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • The ability to deal confidently with external contractors;
  • A willingness to work flexibly as part of a small team;
  • A pro-active approach and practical, hands-on approach to problem solving;
  • Excellent all round mechanical knowledge and experience.
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in a similar role providing maintenance services within a manufacturing environment;
  • Completion of a recognised qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering;
  • Experience dealing with external suppliers and contractors;
  • An understanding and appreciation of health and safety and environment legislation in relation to this role;
  • Comfortable working at height;
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of legionella prevention and control;
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems would be advantageous;
  • Good IT skills;
  • Experience using Building Management Systems;
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations;
  • Portable Appliance Testing Certificate;
  • Full Driving licence.
In this role you will be required to work rotating shifts 6.00am-2.00pm(Mon-Fri) and 2.00pm-10.00pm(Mon - Thu & Fri 10.00am-6.00pm).You will receive:
