Job Description

Role: Senior Estimatorworking hours:08.30AM - 17.00PM Monday – Thursday 08.30AM -16.00PM FridayLocation: St Ives, CambridgeshireWe are seeking a Senior Estimator to join a high-tech team that specialises in the welding and fabrication of stainless steel, assembly, and gas & fluid handling systems.Your Role:As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading estimating and quoting activities. This includes:

  • Discussing clients’ requirements with the Sales team
  • Interpreting clients’ drawings and specifications
  • Collaborating with our production team to determine a manufacturing process and production times
  • Creating a Bill of Materials
  • Working with our supply chain to source parts and subcontract activities
  • Compiling costings and detailed proposals
  • Collaborating with the Sales team to promote proposals to clients
  • Handing over projects to purchasing and production upon successful delivery of proposals
  • Supporting production and purchasing throughout the project as required
  • Managing and developing estimating staff and department
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience as an estimator within the manufacturing industry
  • Accuracy and numeracy with great attention to detail
  • Technical and commercial awareness, ability to understand and interpret drawings and other information
  • Competence in compiling detailed quotations
  • Ability to manage your own workload, as well as that of your department, and achieve set deadlines
