Job Description

For: Electronic Assembly Operator Meyer Scott Ref: VR/08057Location: St IvesPermanentSalary: £17,500 for a trainee or £21,000 for an experienced operator Our client delivers excellent electronics manufacturing and engineering services focused on modest volumes of complex products.The purpose of this position is to prepare and assemble electronic components to printed circuit boards and to perform functional product testing as per documented procedures and/or manufacturing assemble aids.All tasks are to be carried out in a manner which meets or exceeds Prisms quality standards and /or IPC-A-610 Workmanship Standards. Incumbent must be flexible and supportive to all other employees and departments while performing daily tasks.Responsibilities:

  • PCBA preparation and testing.
  • Functional test and recording of test results
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance ie. Test jigs, AOI or similar visual inspection equipment etc.
  • Hand Soldering / Board Population of THM components on Printed Circuit Boards (If no experience in hand soldering, not an issue as the right candidate can be trained)
Desirable:
  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing role
  • IPC-610 certification
  • Prior job roles involving assembly and test
Hours: The hours would be Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 16.45 and Friday 08.00 - 12.30Their standard hours are as detailed but the client ask staff to sign a contract that they can work from 6.00 to 20.00 so that if they get busy they can extend the working day. They have some staff starting and finishing two hours earlier and some two hourslater and that extends their working day by 4 hours if they get busy.
