Job Description

This is a friendly, family run company, established in the 1970s. They are currently really busy and are looking for an additional Alarm Service Engineer! Youll cover areas between Norfolk and Lincolnshire but also travel to North Yorkshire and to the South Coast, occasionally. The majority of site calls will be there and back within the same day, so you need to be comfortable with driving long distances. Occasionally, the distance will require you to stay overnight (attracting an overnight allowance).Additionally, you will provide call out as required at weekends, public holidays / staff holidays on a rota basis (currently 1 in 5).This is what youll be doing:* Travel to sites involving installation, service, commissioning and fault find/repair of system faults * Fault find work involves working from electrical circuit diagrams to detect system faults which will be due to either wiring or faulty modulesAbout You: * Excellent skills & experience in a similar role, working with a variety of alarm systems* Able to fault find and rectify faults on first visit (unit/PCB level - faulty units/PCBs returned to workshop for factory staff)* Experience with system installations and cabling* Experience connecting systems to single phase mains power* Proactive and able to work on your own initiative* Strong communication skills (personable, able to guide non-technical people to resolve faults, via telephone and in face to face situations, etc.)* Full clean driving licence* Happy driving long distances as part of the job* Able to ask for support/help if and when you need it!Advantageous:* Experience and/or qualifications with Texecom intruder alarm systems* Experience and/or qualifications with CCTV, in particular with Hikvision surveillance systems* Good understanding of IP networking.* Good knowledge and experience connecting systems to 3 phase mains power* Mechanical engineering, and use of hand power toolsStart: ASAPLocation: St Ives, CambridgeshireHours: M-F 8:30am to 17:00Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 plus overtimeBenefits: 24 days holiday, company van, mobile phone, company uniform, On call allowance (plus overtime if called out), Overnight allowance (plus agreed expenses)If you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to apply, please call our team on or apply online.
