Job Description

H9 Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Networks Connections Manager to join an established Project Developer within the Battery Storage, Solar & Gas Peaking sector. The client has a growing portfolio within the UK and is based in the North West.Role & Responsibilities

  • Identify grid options for generation and electrical projects, speaking to DNOs or through the use of subcontractors.
  • Manage and lead the grid intel and connections process and other key early stage project development tasks such as DNO/GNO liaison, and early project design
  • Communicate with Ofgem, DNO’s, National Grid and NICEIC to keep compliance with latest changes to regulations.
  • Assessing technical feasibility of generation projects, identify and negotiate with various parties to provide budget proposals, for input into financial modelling.
  • Negotiation with the DNO’s & GNO’s on technical requirements contained in the electrical or gas grid offers and connection agreements, including Flexible grid connections, export limited schemes, private wire and demand side response.
  • Negotiate with ICP and EPC contractors, provide RFQ’s and customers requirements.
  • Define the technical requirements for electrical design, managing project grid connections from the early feasibility through to the contract and construction phase.
  • Sourcing grid and gas intelligence from DNOs and National Grid
    • Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferably Electrical skills/qualifications
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of electrical grid connections
  • Experience in a similar role within the energy/utilities sector
  • Strong communication skills particularly verbal communication.
  • Computing skills including MS office & MS project.
  • Electrical Construction experience, knowledge of CDM and relevant Health & Safety practices.
  • Full UK driving license
