Job Description

Management Accountant + Study SupportBased: Haydock areaSalary: circa £30k dependent on experience, study support (CIMA/ACCA), bonus, good benefits and opportunities for future growth.Hybrid working on offer 3 days office/2 days homeOur client are a market leading service provider based in the Haydock/St Helens area. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join the finance team, this would be a great role for someone who has started their CIMA/ACCA or partqualified and wants to work in a role offering fantastic exposure and the opportunity to progress within an expanding business. This role has become available as the current person has now qualified and moved into a more senior role.The main purpose of this role is to assist with the preparation of monthly fixed asset management accounts for UK&I and provision of financial support to the fixed asset operational team through the production of financial information and analysis.

  • Commercial analysis of the monthly fixed asset management accounts for the division and engage in balance sheet management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly fixed asset management accounts for the UK&I
  • Produce, interpret and analyse standard reports that accurately reflect a true and fair view of business performance, providing commentary and business solutions to problems.
  • Assist in monitoring trends in both products and asset movement. Identify and implement actions to address issues and maximise opportunities.
  • Prepare the month end balance sheet reconciliations and monthly performance review packs for the fixed asset manager.
  • Review and challenge the operational cost base and identify areas for efficiencies.
  • Support Finance managers with the budget/reforecast process for fixed asset movements.
  • Month end reconciliations of UK&I trading balance sheet accounts and investigate differences.
  • Assist in the preparation for the half year and year end external audit for the UK&I trading areas
  • Undertake any other analysis/projects as required by the Head of Operations Finance.
  • Review KPIs and Financial information to ensure that we are consistently improving our performance.
Experience
  • Working towards CIMA/ACCA - ideally first stage/part qualified to progress in the team
  • Excellent communication skills both internally across distances and externally with customers.
  • Experience of management accounts is essential. Fixed assets knowledge beneficial
  • Ability to tailor communications to the appropriate audience
