Job Description

An Opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD designer with a background within the furniture sector.About Our Client:

  • Specialists in the design and manufacture of commercial furniture, lines of business range from new and refurb care homes to challenging environments. Clients we work with include care homes, mental health homes, prisons, hospitals, hotels, and retail. Our extensive product catalogue includes cabinets, to full bespoke design kit outs.
  • There is a current requirement for a CAD Designer ideally with experience in the furniture or product design sector looking to take on a challenging but rewarding role with a company that offers an excellent work environment as well as excellent career prospects.
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be required to have experience using AutoCAD as well as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks (pref the later). You will becreating Space Planning drawings, Customer Drawings and Manufacturing Drawings with drilling details. You will be working alongside the sales team as well as other departments to produce 3D models, manufacturing drawings and client presentations.
    • Specific Requirements:
  • Must have experience of space planning, customer and manufacturing drawings
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor, & Auto-CAD (SolidWorks, 3dsMax would be an advantage)
  • Experience within furniture, joinery, upholstery or similar industry
  • Experience of space planning, customer, and manufacturing drawings

    • Primary Responsibilities:
  • To interpret sketches received into workable technical manufacturing style drawings including a B.O.M (Bill of Materials) as necessary and full input of this B.O.M into the FCS software, Customer Drawings and Space Planning layouts
  • Initially updating all standard stock B.O.M and drill details into the new software. Creating drilling diaries for individual components.
  • Creating rendered images as required
  • Manage and maintain the FCS software and become the champion of this software to enable ease to production.
