Job Description

Functional Skills TutorLocation: St Helens, MerseysideSalary: CompetitiveOur client is an inspiring social enterprise who are aiming to create success and opportunity within the community.The Chamber is a unique organisation, private sector led not-for-profit, that works with local businesses, partners, and the community to contribute to growth and regeneration.The organisation are seeking a self-motivated and target driven Functional Skills Tutor to maximise achievements on maths and English qualifications on their Traineeship programmes.The RoleYou will be delivering across 3 delivery sites which offer comfortable and modern buildings set in the heart of St Helens with free staff parking available. This role will include a large amount of classroom based activity, delivering maths and English to16 24 year olds.You will be joining the UKs leading Chamber of Commerce, a unique organisation with a long and successful history.You will be dealing with learners directly as part of this role, ensuring that they develop their maths and English skills, supporting them to take their exams in a timely manner.Role Requirements

  • Highly skilled in building rapport with learners and developing motivation to achieve
  • Self-motivated, target driven and with excellent diary management skills
  • Proven ability to deliver maths and English functional skills to a diverse range of individuals.
  • Understanding of Ofsted requirements
  • Session planning experience and ability to deliver engaging and inspiring sessions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the business, including willingness to work across the Liverpool City Region where required.
Ideally you will also possess the following or be willing to work towards:
  • Knowledge and/or experience of ESFA/AEB/ESF funding streams
  • Level 2 in Maths and English Functional Skills
  • Teaching qualification / DET / PTTLS/ Award in Education
