Tax Partner / Tax Manager (Partner Designate) - R&D Tax Consultancy - St Albans - £45k-£65k dependent on experience, + equityRobert Walters are hiring for a Tax Partner / Tax Manager (Partner Designate) for a leading boutique R&D tax consultancy based in St Albans.The company is a circa £1.5m turnover R&D tax credit and tax consultancy who though small, are known to be of extremely high quality, and thus they have a fantastic reputation in the market. The business operate predominantly in the R&D tax credit space, but also more and more are offering general tax and accounting services to their clients. They continue to grow organically through word of mouth and from their clients recommendations and referrals.The owner is looking to succession-plan the business as they are looking to step back in the next 3-5 years, and as a result they are looking to bring on someone who can succeed them in running the company. This could either be someone experienced who is able to come in right away as a Tax Partner, or someone more junior who will come in as a Tax Manager and will be trained to become a Tax Partner and eventually take the running of the company.As a result the owner is looking for someone of really high calibre or potential - The successful person is likely to be either ACA or CTA trained (or planning to study CTA), and likely will have come from a Big 4 or top-tier consultancy, or similar role in industry. Experience in corporate tax is essential: Specific experience in R&D tax credits / RDEC is not necessary as they are happy to give training in this area.Strong academics are beneficial, as is an entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills, and bags of drive and passion.This is truly an exceptional and very rare opportunity to inherit and lead a thriving boutique tax firm, with an already stellar reputation.As such this would be a great position for someone trained at a large firm but who knows they want to run their own business, and would enjoy leaving behind the politics and corporate culture of the large firms.Salary is flexible dependent on experience but is likely to be circa £45k-£55k for someone recently qualified coming in at Tax Manager, or circa £55k-£65k for someone more experience coming in as a Tax Partner.On top of the salary will be equity in the firm, full study support if needed, good work/life balance and flexible / remote working.This is an opportunity not to be missed - apply now for a confidential discussion and to find out more.
