Job Description

IT Support EngineerAn opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will provide IT installation and support services remotely and at our customer’s sites, most of which are located within a 1-hour drive from St Albans.Starting salary from £26,000 to £33,000 per annum depending upon qualifications and experience.This role will include on-the-job training, initially in the St Albans office. We will show you the ropes but previous experience is essential for this role.Responsibilities include:

  • Remote Support from our St Albans office.
  • Support visits at customer sites.
  • Resolving support tickets in a timely and professional manor.
  • Maintaining first rate customer service.
  • Taking ownership of customer issues and requests.
    • Requirements:
  • Previous experience in similar role is essential.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for computers and IT.
  • A strong knowledge of IT equipment and computer hardware / software.
  • Experience of installation and support of personal computers (mainly W7 and W10).
  • Working knowledge of administering Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Ability to work to an extremely high standard in order to maintain a first rate service.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Microsoft 365 or GSuite administration experience.
  • A good telephone manner.
  • Applicants need to be smart, confident and well-presented.
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required and carried out by the company prior to employment.
  • Troubleshooting skills and an ability to work through issues.
  • Using Microsoft Hyper-V Virtualisation.
  • Experience of troubleshooting network issues with knowledge of switches, topology and patching.
    • Advantageous but not required - Knowledge or experience of any of the following:
  • Data cabling.
  • Projectors, interactive whiteboards and audio installations.
  • Linux.
  • Access Control / CCTV installations
