Job Description

The Offender Personality Disorder Pathway (OPD Pathway) service is a national programme delivered through a partnership between NHSE and Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). In Hertfordshire the OPD Pathway has been in operation since 2013 with psychologists from HPFT working with the National Probation Service (NPS) across the county. The aim of service is to facilitate a psychologically informed approach to working with high risk offenders with personality difficulties through consultation, formulation and workforce development. The OPD Pathway team is made up of both psychologists and probation staff and is now well established within Hertfordshire NPS. More recent developments have given an opportunity to expand the service as a result of the Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (IIRMS) model which has now been rolled out nationally as part of the OPD Pathway. This service aims to provide a multi-disciplinary team to support the most complex and high risk cases through their transition from prison to the community and onwards with a more intensive approach which is probation led and psychologically informed. We are hoping to be able to welcome an experienced Occupational Therapist to the team to further develop IIRMS in Hertfordshire through either a one year secondment or fixed-term post for one day a week. This is an exciting development opportunity to bring new skills to the team in order to meet the broad needs of this complex client groupFor further details / informal visits contact:NameDr Jayne HenryJob titleConsultant Clinical Psychologist and ClinicalEmail addressjayne.henry1@nhs.netTelephone numberAdditional contact informationLisa Ford Professional Occupational Therapy Lead for Forensic Services tel no: lisa .
