Job Description

GiBe Finance are delighted to be working with a blue-chip construction business in St Albans, recruiting a Financial Controller to support their largest region.Reporting into the Divisional Finance Director, you will have day-to-day oversight for the finance team, deputising for the FD in their absence.The business offer a highly competitive benefits package including; 28 days annual leave, flexible working policy (pre & post covid), pension <12.5%, share save scheme + bonus. Coupled with this, they pride themselves on internal development and obvious next steps here would be into a Divisional FD role, either within this region or another (smaller) one.The Role

  • Maintain weekly sales & completions for all sites with the Finance Director
  • Full accountability for day to day and month end reporting and adherence to the Group Policy Manual
  • Reconciliation of plot information between Anaplan and Dynamics
  • Reconciliation between the forecasting system (Anaplan) and the ledgers (Agresso)
  • Ensuring that Balance Sheet reviews and other appropriate financial controls are performed to the required timescales and any risks highlighted to the Finance Director
  • Preparation of sales and marketing spend forecasts with the sales and marketing teams
  • Forecasting of S106 contributions with the planning team
  • Providing advise to the business on SDLT, VAT etc.
  • Attendance at company meetings as required by the Finance Director, including cost review meetings and build sales meetings
  • Prepare and present monthly trading accounts / forecasts along with half-year and full-year statutory reporting packs
  • Preparation of the financial papers for the monthly Board Pack
  • Preparation of JV Board Papers to the required timescales
  • Provide general and ad-hoc tasks as required by the Finance Director
  • Monitor key dates to ensure we fulfil our commercial and financial obligations on land, local authority and tax payments
  • Maintain risk schedules in line with Group Business Assurance Control tracker on all projects
  • Deputise for the Finance Director in their absence
  • Day to day management and supervision of the finance team
  • Your Profile
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
  • Strong communicator - written and verbally
  • Excellent problem solving and investigative approach to Financial Management
  • House building experience highly advantageous
  • COINS experience highly advantageous
