Job Description

We have been providing more homes for people unable to rent or buy privately since March 2002 and we aim to build a home a day - 365 new homes per year.We are looking for a Planner on a Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) to undertake work planning, administrative duties and financial and statistical functions in support of all Homes and Places Delivery teams providing a planned maintenance/works, repairs, modernisation and voids service.There couldnt be a more exciting time to join CHP as we are currently experiencing three times the growth of the industry average.   • Co-ordination of resources, trade teams, contractors, other staff and materials, addressing any conflicting objectives, ensuring the right number of people with the right skills are in place to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure that all works, projects and inspections are effectively scheduled to maximise the efficient use of resources and improve productivity.
  • Ensure all processes are efficient and eliminate any non-value-added activities.
  • Assist Supervisors, Charge Hands and Managers in planning, co-ordinating and monitoring the CHP Voids, Repairs, Planned works and Compliance services delivered by direct trade teams and contractors.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, contractors and residents to provide a customer focused maintenance support and information service via telephone, computer systems and face to face;
  • Undertake administrative, financial and statistical functions relating to the general operation of the Commercial Services Directorate including supporting order, invoicing and accrual processes where required;
  • Ensure all inspections and relevant safety checks are undertaken within set timescales and all resultant certificates are recorded on appropriate systems;
  • Provide support with health and safety and compliance of the Delivery teams as well as that of associated teams, suppliers, Contractors and Residents, in line with CHPs Health and Safety policy, framework and statutory requirements;
  • To provide regular progress reports to the Assistant Director of Commercial Services in relation to service delivery;
  • Process recharges for repairs and Voids and liaise with other department on the administration of these;
  • Raise orders for works as requested by authorised Commercial Services managers or staff and ensure that all job costing information is applied accurately and timely to works in progress or completed jobs and forward to appropriate person or team.
  • Identify and input relevant maintenance information to the asset management database
  • To be responsible, in conjunction with the Supervisors and Managers for the formulation and implementation of business procedures which ensure accurate and efficient work planning, administrative and support services for the void, planned and repairs maintenance teams and advice and guidance to any associated projects.
  • Assist the Delivery Teams Supervisors and Managers in the continuous development and improvement of the Delivery team and ensure VFM awareness within the team.
  • Collaborate with CHPs Information Services team to manage and develop current Delivery teams systems (Total and Total Mobile), as well as future CHP systems such as Open Housing, GIS and DRS Scheduling;
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain to ensure materials required are available to allow completion of work on the first visit;
  • PERSON SPECIFICATIONEssentialQualifications
  • Evidence of attainment of good literacy and numeracy, e.g. through GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Experience, knowledge and skills
  • Experience of office systems and procedures, ideally in a repairs reporting, maintenance or scheduling role;
  • Microsoft Office packages);
  • High level of computer literacy (including a good working knowledge
  • Experience in meeting deadlines
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment;
  • Experience of invoice processing;
  • Able to prioritise work and competing demands.
  • Previous use of housing management systems;
  • Previous use of contractor works management systems;
  • Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative;
