Job Description

Gap Personnel who are operating as an employment business are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT for a company based in SPEKE area.The position is permanent. Salary:

  • £22250 - £25000 per year
Shifts:
  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Warehouse Assistant Job DescriptionReports to Warehouse ManagerThis job description is designed to outline the main duties and responsibilities, associated with the post and is not intended to provide an exhaustive list of all duties performed.Purpose of the jobA warehouse assistant will ensure the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of all goods. They will meet the needs of the business on a daily basis by ensuring that all picking, packing and distribution are effectively completed. Our warehouse assistantsmust adhere to all health and safety requirements and are responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of all warehouse areas.Key Accountabilities- Goods In
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations put in place.
  • Drive the Reach Truck safely, following all guidelines put in place including pre use checks.
  • Loading and unloading goods from delivery vans or lorries.
  • Checking that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received.
  • Recording and reporting any damage, missing or faulty goods
  • Signing delivery form once satisfied that the goods are complete
  • Moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment.
  • Labelling goods.
  • Splitting store deliveries accurately.
  • Pricing Gift deliveries.
  • Quality checking furniture and lighting deliveries.
Key Accountabilities - Storage and Stock Control
  • Allocating storage space to goods.
  • Reallocating and restacking goods to make space for a new delivery.
  • Keeping records of goods, their location and quantity.
  • Complete quarterly stocktakes, or as and when required.
Key Accountabilities - Goods Out
  • Picking goods that have been ordered, quickly and efficiently using the company scanners.
  • Preparing dispatch notes and labels.
  • Moving and stacking goods ready for delivery, either by hand or mechanical handling equipment.
  • Attention to detail required to assume quality checking/quality control.
  • Load and wrap stock onto pallets.
General Responsibilities
  • Wear safety clothing as required.
  • Maintaining the warehouse in a tidy state and clearing away packing material and debris.
  • Complete the weekly office and warehouse cleaning rota, including bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Using computerised systems, barcode scanners and other technology to record goods movements.
  • Maintain good knowledge of the products/brands sold by Utility by attending training and staff meetings where required.
  • Use all warehouse equipment safely following company procedures.
General Responsibilities cont.
  • Ensure the warehouse is well organised at all times
  • Be security alert and pay attention to suspicious behaviour in order to prevent external or internal theft.

  • Provide a genuinely warm welcome to every supplier/visitor at Head office, offering beverages and leading them into the meeting rooms.
  • Follow company uniform and dress policy at all times.
