Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our IT Team as Infrastructure Security Analyst . This is a full time, permanent position and location split between our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool and our offices based at our Runcorn Distribution Centre.

  • Reporting to Infrastructure & Security Manager, the Infrastructure Security Analyst’s primary focus being cyber security. In particular mitigating and defending against malicious cyber activity and adapting to an ever-changing threat landscape through effective incident response and threat hunting, which includes but is not limited to: security vulnerability remediationlifecycle across data centre equipment, virtual and network infrastructure, Cloud/SaaS and client devices including installed software.
    • The Key Accountabilities in the role are:
  • Perform threat hunting activities daily, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure that systems are protected from known and potential threats and are free from known vulnerabilities.
  • Tuning preventative and detective security systems in response to emerging threats
  • Collate incident and event data to produce monthly exception and management reports.
  • Tuning preventative security solutions in response to emerging threats
  • Research and learn about new technologies and threats to ensure security controls are current and optimal.
  • Apply patches and updates where appropriate and, at the direction of the Infrastructure & Security manager, remove or otherwise mitigate known weaknesses, such as unnecessary services, applications or redundant user accounts, as a means of hardening systems in accordance with security policies and standards
  • Perform / schedule routine phishing activities for B&M User base.
  • Participate in enterprise testing and vulnerability assessment activities as a representative of B&M Retail
    • The ideal candidate will have the following experience & skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT Infrastructure Security experience
  • Technical proficiency with mainstream vendors and security-related solutions, specifically Cisco Security, Microsoft, and VMWare technologies
  • Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management; threat detection; vulnerability management; incident response; and identity and access management.
  • Experience working with:
  • Security Information & Event Management solution
  • Federated Identity Solutions for cloud/SaaS applications.
  • VMware & Cisco Portfolio of applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective incident and problem resolution.
