Job Description

Assesmby Maintenance Lead HandAbout Our Client Our client’s portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and additional lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, our client provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct report to the Assembly Engineering manager
  • Responsible for the day to day activities of the shift technicians.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance activities are completed and relevant KPI data logged.
  • Develop improvement plans for assembly equipment.
  • Develop cross functional team between Merplas and Ellesmere Port.
  • Part of the assembly/facilities energy reduction team. Assist energy champion as required.
  • Ensure all HS&E is adhered to including risk assessments, accident/incident reports completed and escalated to H&S Manager.
  • Review RAMS and issue Work Permits
  • Liaise, support and control contractual work carried out on assembly machines
  • Must be able to demonstrate good timekeeping and disciplinary record
  • Must be able to travel when required to support projects and programs
  • Skill & Experience
  • Time served apprentice in related engineering discipline
  • Must be Innovative and methodical in approach with proven experience in continuous improvement
  • Good business sense, understanding of finances and cost control
  • Experience of working with robotics, PLC’s
  • Knowledge of discipline routes and procedures
  • Managing within a unionised environment
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven Ability of Leadership skills , motivation and team building
  • High understanding of QS / TS / and ISO requirements
  • Must possess good forms of communication skills both written & oral
  • Good I.T skills and P.C literacy
  • Must be able to understand risk assessment COSHH requirements and
  • Awareness of 5s disciplines (preferred)
