Job Description

GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with a leading mechanical systems / machinery company recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter (Compressors bias) to work on pumps, screw & piston compressors, conveyors, hydraulic & pneumatic systems & more.The company support & work on a number of different compressor units, such as SCCFINI, BAMBI & Boge plus Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Hydrovane, ABAC, HPC & many other brands.The client builds any type of compressed air systems that the end using client requires, this can range from the more straight forward air compressor installations,through to compressed air dryers, nitrogen generators, filtration systems or installing compressed air lines for all types of industry sectors, but predominantly in General Manufacturing, Horticulture& Agricultural environments (plus others).Additionally to this the company also provide machinery maintenance within factories, fabrication & stick / MIG Welding works, stainless steel work & more, offering a widespread service to all their customers.The client will train an individual in certain areas they may fall short in as long as some of the above skills are present.This key Fitting role offers a varied salary banding depending on your relevant experience / skills level (all NEG) & they will also offer training where required to add skills to your profile / career development.Duties:

  • Mechanical Maintenance, Repairs, Fault Finding & Fitting
  • MIG & Stick Welding
  • Fabrication of Stainless Steel
  • Working on Pumps, Screw & Piston Compressors, Conveyor Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Mechanical components / parts
  • Advising customers on required parts & components, plus general on-site / off site customer support
  • Completing any necessary paperwork
  • Liaising with Factory Managers, Engineering Professionals, Directors etc providing top level customer service
Attributes Desired:
  • Experienced in working with several of these; Air Compressors, Pumps, Screw & Piston Compressors, Conveyor Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Mechanical components / parts or similar types of machinery / or other
  • MIG Welding skills (beneficial not a must)
  • Fabricating skills (beneficial not a must)
  • Ability to read technical drawings (machinery build paperwork etc.)
  • Some form of Engineering Qualification & or time-served in a similar Fitter role
  • Strong professional communicator & a positive reflection of the company (face of the business)
