Job Description

Do you have experience in Health and Safety and have completed your NEBOSH General CertificateAre you working in an SHE Administrator role or are looking for a promotion into a more senior postReed have been briefed to recruit on behalf of a large Food Production business to recruit for an SHE Co-ordinator role, to support the SHE Manager with all aspects of site safety.   • Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental training is carried out both effectively and efficiently and records are kept up to date through communication with Department Managers.
  • Conduct regular factory / site visits to monitor and assess risks and hazards
  • Ensure that near miss and accident investigations are completed effectively.
  • Monitor and organise the completion and review of all risk assessments for the site.
  • Conduct/Assist with Internal and External Audits.
  • Maintain COSHH safety records to meet legislative requirements.
  • Assist the SHE Manager to produce and submit KPIs
  • Produce various reports and ensure all data is recorded correctly on systems / spreadsheets.
  • Organise SHE committee meetings and take minutes
  • Conduct first aid audits to ensure correct management of first aid boxes and defibrillators battery checks are undertaken.
  • Deputise for the SHE manager in his/her absence.
Person specification:
  • Must have flexible approach and excellent time management skills.
  • Be able to work effectively on their own and as part of the team.
  • Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly open nature and a genuine desire to be of assistance to site management team and employees.
  • Have good Presentation Skills.
  • Strong administration and IT skills to learn new systems (Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • COSHH awareness
Desirable Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Certification or Level 3 apprenticeship in Health, Safety and Environmental award
  • IEMA training or equivalent (or working towards)
