Performance Reporting - To manage the periodic reporting process, ensuring that the information generated is used to challenge performance and drive action. To generate ad-hoc information (normally overhead, cash or balance sheet related) to support theanalysis of business performance.Monthly reports and reconciliations are produced in a timely manner, showing variances against all key measuresAll deadlines are met without promptingChallenge of results and discussion with cost centre managers is seen as the normReporting is regularly reviewed to ensure it adds value and provides useful infomationRolling Forecast - To co-ordinate the generation of the overhead, cash and balance sheet elements of the rolling forecast, and review the results to ensure they are robust and supported by sound assumptions.Champion and fully manage the overhead rolling forecast process.Fully forecast cash and balance sheet as part of the internal business rolling forecast process, agreeing key elements (EBITDA to Cash reconciliation, assumptions on working capital days) ahead of Cognos submission.Building Sutton Bridge information into the overall meals submission ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the forecast is maintained throughoutMonth End - To manage the month end and balance sheet process. Ensure the process is robust and efficient, and that balance sheet accounts are understood and balances are justified.Balance sheet reconciliations are complete prior to Cognos submissionReconciliation back up is clear, accurate and relevant, allowing the authoriser to assess risk and opportunityProvisions summary is collated and reported on an adhoc basisAccount set up is logical, relevant and allows efficient reconciliation and reviewIS and Business Processes - To review the financial systems (ERP, Fixed Assets, COGNOS etc) to ensure they are operating and are being used efficiently and effectively, and that the integrity of the information held within them is maintained.Utilise business systems to avoid duplication of data storage and ad hoc reporting (eg; Excel)Regularly review coding of data to ensure it is relevant and accurate (eg; balance sheet account codes, Qlikview categorisation)Ensure that team are fully trained on all relevant systems and that documented business processes reflect realityGroup Requirements - To co-ordinate and communicate with group functions (e.g. internal audit, tax department) and external parties (e.g. external audit) as required. Ensure that reporting and control systems are reviewed and modified to comply with group standards.Timely and accurate submission of group requests (eg; tax pack)Continuous improvement of business systems and reporting in line with modifications to Group standardsUnderstand the reasons behind Group Requirements and convey these in suitable language to teamCash Champion - Develop suitable financial procedures to optimise working capital. Develop reporting techniques to express working capital and cash performance.Fully utilises group tools to understand and report working capitalEnsures working capital performance is reported to the wider business teamEnsures key stakeholders understand the impact of decisions on their working capital performance.Reports Cashflow on a monthly basis to the Business Exec TeamInvestments - Ensure that capital and non-capital investments are robustly appraised and are consistent with the business / site plan. Complete PCRs.Costs for projects are fully understood and are known with a relative degree of certainty.Any payback for projects has been verified and is measured and compared to the investment assumptionsPCRs are completed for all projectsPeople Management - to manage the Financial Accounts function. To recruit, lead, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve personal development and continual improvement.The Appraisal process is complete annually and all objectives are clearly defined.
