VG Recycling Group Ltd. is a well-established recycling company, exporting by land & sea to various countries. The parent company was founded in 1972 under the name Van Gelder Recycling Groep BV. Its main activities are collecting and sorting waste paperand trading in secondary fibres, like pulp and waste paper. The collection and sorting of waste paper takes place at 2 locations in Holland: Velsen-Noord (Amsterdam) and Zutphen. The trading department of VG Recycling is located at the headquarters of thecompany in Velsen-Noord, with a subsidiary company in UK.For the UK company, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated, Export Logistics Supervisor to join our small young team. We are a growing business and you would be an integral part of that growth.This full-time position - 8.30 to 5.30, Monday to Friday, you will liaise closely with our forwarders, suppliers and overseas agents. We offer a competitive salary plus 28 days annual holiday (inclusive of UK bank holidays). The job will entail freight rate negotiations, booking, co-ordinating and tracking orders and containers from purchase order to point of delivery, ensuring all relevant parties are kept informed. Strong Logistical skills with excellent attention to detail areessential as you will need to check essential shipping and export documentation required by customers and suppliers, as well as co-ordinate the delivery and dispatch of freight. You will need to be flexible and able to react quickly to the changing demandsof our customers, maintaining a calm and professional attitude at all times.Areas of Responsibility:Arrange Export Bookings with Freight Forwarders / Shipping linesProcess orders for shipments Co-ordinate with Freight forwarders & Suppliers to ensure timely collectionsLiaise with suppliers to book collectionsSupply VGMs & BL Instructions to freight forwardersTake bookings and assist with transport arrangements by sea & road Check essential shipping documentation required by customers and suppliers including bills of ladings, invoices, customs entries Various other ad-hoc logistic related duties Skills and Qualities:Experience in the wastepaper industry would be beneficial.Mandatory 2 years previous experience gained within the last 3 years in an export shipping & logistics role is essentialComplete knowledge of Export documentation, procedures and Incoterms is mandatoryExcellent communication skills and command of written and spoken English Able to work with autonomy and organise and manage your own workload effectively Being pro-active in highlighting and solving any issues and constantly looking for opportunities to improve processes Competent user of Microsoft Office The ability to pick things up quickly and build effective working relationships Effective team player A flexible approach to hours of workFor an interview please click on Apply for this job
