Job Description

We currently have a Electrical Craftsperson position available for a motivated individual to join our team based at our Exewater Depot, near Exeter. Joining us on a full time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,500 - £30,500 per annumplus benefits.South West Water is part of Pennon Group, a successful and stable business which prides itself on sustainability. You will form part of the Waste Water Services Planned Maintenance Team based at Exeter, supporting specialised planned maintenance activities on SWW assets. You will need the current IEE qualification and ideally test and inspect qualification enabling you to assist in the installation, repair, and planned maintenance activities including optimisation of the operational plant, process power, and control systems.Responsibilities as our Electrical Craftsperson will include: - Delivering quality support using your expertise and experience in your ICA/Electrical engineering discipline- Using electrical, control, and process system knowledge to both optimise the systems and minimise the risk/impact to our Customers regarding failing assets- Proactively maintaining/supporting and calibrating various items of monitoring equipment currently being utilised on WWS systems- Ability to conduct, prioritise and carry out works to the satisfaction of the Planned Maintenance Coordinator and the Complex Maintenance and Safety Manager as required- Conforming and adhering at all times to current ISO, H&S systems, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Atmosphere and Confined Space procedures, ATEX/DSEAR/CompEx, LOLER, PUWER, and company policies- Delivering cost effective improvements to assets and systems including VSD’s, motors, submersible, and non-submersible pumps and control methodology- A willingness to undertake such training as is required to ensure continued improvement of technical skills and Health and Safety awareness remains extant- Complying with all business rules relating to the delivery of and feedback regarding all maintenance activityWhat we are looking for in our ideal Electrical Craftsperson:- Time served apprenticeship supported by relevant formal qualifications e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND- 17th Edition Compliant or current IEE Regulations- C&G 2394/2395 Inspection and Testing or equivalent Qualified (desirable)- CompEx 09 & 10 Water Industry (desirable)- Industrial/Commercial experience required- Experience with VSD’s, soft starts, and motor control systems- Experience to include maintenance ad calibration of front line instrumentation and analysers ie fixed gas detection, phosphorus and aluminium analysers, EDMs & UV, etc.- Ability to adapt to changing situations- Self motivated and willing to take responsibility for all aspects of work delivery- Good communications skills and be able to work on your own but also as part of a larger team- A flexible approach to working is required.
