Job Description

Would you like a hands on role within a high-performing teamWe currently have an opportunity available for a Craftsperson - Mechanical to join our team working in Exewater. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive acompetitive salary of£27,719£31,306 per annum plus benefits.About the role:The Craftsperson - Mechanical will strip, inspect and repair assets which are sent through South West Waters internal Repair Workshop from both Waste Water Services and Drinking Water Services function. Ultimately to provide services ofthe required quality and quantity, in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.What youll be doing as our Craftsperson - Mechanical:

  • Working on assets from Waste Water Treatment and Water Treatment sites to strip, inspect and repair a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes and specialist treatment process machinery.
  • Manufacturing and fabricating parts and equipment.
  • Working with other disciplines in a workshop/mobile field team.
  • Developing new skills and training both in and outside of your core discipline.
  • Following the business and departmental rules associated with workflow and management.
  • Working in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe.
  • Stripping, inspecting and repairing ATEX rated M&E assets.
  • Responsible Person for overseeing ATEX repairs, aligned to the processes and procedures set out by the AEMT.
What we are looking for in our Craftsperson - Mechanical:
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject.
  • A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience of working within a maintenance environment.
  • Worked with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regime.
  • Knowledge of the operational principles of mechanical plant.
  • Have the ability to fault find utilising a structured and analytical approach through to the repair of complex and specialist items of mechanical equipment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must have a full driving license.
