The role We are looking forBand 6 Senior CAMHS Mental Health Practitioners. We value the skills of a multi-disciplinary team and have a range of roles to suit all interests. Based in locations across Devon and Torbay, we are looking for qualified professionals who can bring skills, experience and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children and young people with complex emotional and mental health needs. Full and Part-time opportunities available.Are you interested in working therapeutically in the community with young people and their families with a range of presenting mental health needs You may be interested in working with depression and anxiety, self-injurious behaviours or attachment difficulties Our teams provide opportunities for you to use your skills across the spectrum of children’s mental health needs as well as specific areas of focussed work including eating disorders and Youth Offending Services.Are you interested in working with trauma and abuse Some of our staff work together to focus their skills in the areas of supporting children who have experienced abuse and traumatic experience. There are opportunities for training and ongoing supervision in trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT)Are you interested in working in the acute care parts of our service Responding to acute need through calm and confident risk assessment and supporting those in crisis We’re looking for people who can work both ‘in hours’ (9am-5pm Mon-Fri) and extended hours 9am-10pm (7 days per week)Are you interested in early help and Primary Mental Health workFor those with a passion for early intervention, group work, and multi-agency working. About you You will be an experienced and qualified CAMHS professional (RMN, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or equivalent). You will have experience of multi-disciplinary team working and developing relationships across agencies. The ability to adapt communication and intervention style to meet individual need is important and you will have knowledge of child development and child protection procedures.Using both evidence based practice and routine outcome measures, you will use a strength-based approach to work collaboratively with people, in line with key CYP-IAPT principles. Managing risk in the community is a core part of these roles, responding to both urgent and routine, planned and unplanned need. You will be required to work flexibly across a range of clinical, community and home-based settings.
