We currently have an opportunity available for an Alternative Water Supply TechnicianHGV Driving to join our team working in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,000 - £26,300 including shift uplift with overtime available as part of the standby rota.South West Water is part of the Pennon Group, a very successful and stable business that prides itself on sustainability. In return, we offer an excellent range of benefits which include free car parking at the majority of our sites, company Sharesave Scheme, and various health benefits.About the role of Alternative Water Supply TechnicianHGV Driving:Reporting to the AWS supervisor for workflow and the Asset Manager for line management, you will be responsible for maintaining water supplies by driving HGV C & C+E vehicles, completing all scheduled & emergency tasks, supporting administration and workingwith the security team to confirm compliance with water supply directives. You will undertake duties to support the Drinking Water Services Alternative Water Supply (AWS) strategy within the South West and Bournemouth network operational areas and ensuringa constant state of safe/compliant readiness, repair, maintenance, operation and deploy ability of all AWS kits.Responsibilities as ourAlternative Water Supply TechnicianHGV Driving: - Ensure that the Health, Safety & Security policies and standards are adhered to at all times- Undertake regular vehicle checks, recording & reporting of any defects- Undertake all necessary operational maintenance, repair and frequently exercising the AWS equipment- Deploy, operate and track use of AWS kit when required, in and out of hours and when qualified participate in shift working pattern- Maintenance and repair of supply interruption mitigation equipment- Ensure company Supply Interruption ODI is at the forefront of all operations- Provide AWS and supply interruption mitigation packages to Alternative Water Supply and Network technicians- Work in accordance with all associated QMS procedures- Being aware of and compliant with all requirements to protect the environment as consequence of network operational duties- Support and undertake any such other activities needed within the Water Distribution network- Carry out all requisite tasks in such a way that contamination is prevented and to understand what action to take in the event of a contamination or a suspected contamination- Participate in standby and call out rotas as necessary- Excellent customer service at all timesWhat we are looking for in our Alternative Water Supply TechnicianHGV Driving: - Full UK B driving license- HGV Class C (C+E desired)- GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English, Maths and Science- Proficient in the use of IT- Generally experienced in mechanical duties- Proven experience of working within a water supply environment- Able to work to tight deadlines- Able to use own initiative as well as being a team player- Ability to communicate well in a written and verbal context- Ability to complete deployment and maintenance reports- Flexibility of working hoursClosing date: Friday 17th December 2021If you are looking for a new challenge, please click apply now to be considered as our Alternative Water Supply TechnicianHGV Driving - we look forward to receiving your application.
