Job Description

WINNER are currently supporting an production manufacturing company with the recruitment of theirWelder/Fabricator, this role will be based in Barnsley.As aWelder/Fabricatoris responsible for working accurately and within specified tolerances, to engineering drawings, product structures and work orders, and at company- specified pace of work.The duties of theWelder/Fabricatorwill be:

  • Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, and PPE for the tasks.
  • Use welding equipment and accessories, gases, scissor lifts, G-clamps, cranes, jibs, strops, pallet trolleys, grinders, sanders, hand drills, etc, as appropriate, utilising safe working methods.
  • Selection, laying out and fabrication of metal weldments and assemblies.
  • Continually check work to maintain quality of weld.
  • Quality of finished welding operation (grinding undertaken as necessary) to be to company accepted standards.
  • Exercise proper care of tools, materials and equipment.
  • Maintaining records as required under company procedures.
  • Any other duties within the capabilities and training of the individual in line with the needs of the company.
  • To attend training organised by the company in-house or off-site.
  • To maintain confidentiality regarding the company finances, plans, products, suppliers, customers, designs, manufacturing processes during and subsequent to termination.
  • At all times to present the professional image in line with company standards.
  • All duties to be carried out utilising safe working methods and appropriate PPE, with due regard to the Health and Safety, COSHH and other relevant legislation.
The idealWelder/Fabricatorwill have:
  • MIG and TIG welding
  • Ability to interpret and work to engineering drawings without guidance
  • Relevant fabrication shop experience
  • Safe working methods relative to post 5S
  • Competency in use of related equipment, eg grinders, sanders, hand drills, etc.
  • Team player
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
The salary for theWelder/Fabricatoris between £29,000 - £32,000 per hourThe company operate a three shift rota of days (6am to 2pm), afters (2pm-10pm), and nights (10pm to 6am)
