Job Description

Position: Site Manager - Civils Salary: CIRCA £40k + company benefits + Car Allowance Location: Yorkshire We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our client, a leading Specialist contractor who have been operating for over 65 years.They work in the Civils and Concrete Structure sector, with dedicated National teams experienced with a reputation in the industry for the quality of our service and innovative engineering solutions, underpinned by our commitment to safety.Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing sites to achieve financial, safety, quality and environmental targets
  • Pre-start planning and liaison with estimators
  • Development of PSHEQP, method statements, risk assessments and other instructions to site teams
  • Accepting, approving, and issuing orders and instructions
  • Liaising and meeting with clients, consulting engineers, surveyor, sub-contractors, and others
  • Ensure company SHEQ procedures are complied with
  • Maintaining accurate site records including site measurement sheets, site diary, plant and labour returns, goods received sheets, drawing register, as built drawings
  • Providing technical advice to site staff and feedback to estimators on outputs
  • Completion, submission and archiving of site records
  • Procuring, ordering, and approving materials, plant and subcontract purchases
  • Providing accurate information to Contracts Managers for regional monthly contract appraisals and other reports as required
  • Budgeting, monitoring and control of site costs
  • Assisting in identifying, evaluating, and managing claims and variations
  • Providing information for compiling applications for payment and agreeing final accounts
  • Motivating, coaching, and providing guidance to staff and operatives
  • Communicating clearly and close liaison with regional management & administration team
  • Implementation of company policies and procedures
  • Maintaining photographic record of site activities
  • Ensuring professionalism and quality is maintained throughout all activities
Qualification Needed:
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Black Card
  • NVQ Level 4, or equivalent in a Civil Engineering / Construction related discipline. (Achieved or working towards)
