Job Description

As Network Engineer, you will be responsible for company infrastructure and will proactively ensure the landscape is continually, monitored, patched, available and integrated. In addition, the role is responsible for installing, configuring, and supportingthe organizations local area network (LAN), wide area network (SDWAN), and Internet systems or segments of a network system as well as maintaining network hardware and software.Client DetailsMichael Page Technology have partnered exclusively with a global logistics and manufacturing organisation to support them with the recruitment of a Network Engineer, who will work on a UK wide network modernisation.DescriptionWhat youll be doing:As Network Engineer, you will be responsible for company infrastructure and will proactively ensure the landscape is continually, monitored, patched, available and integrated. In addition, the role is responsible for installing, configuring, and supportingthe organizations local area network (LAN), wide area network (SDWAN), and Internet systems or segments of a network system as well as maintaining network hardware and software. Responsibilities include managing a landscape within a hybrid cloud model, withmigrations towards cloud as the primary platform.Responsibilities:

  • Management of network infrastructure LAN/WAN topologies and hardware including but not limited to proxy servers, switches, routers, cabling, and wireless. Responsibilities include upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring all network infrastructure hardware,firmware, and applicable software.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain backup solutions and high-availability options and implementations.
  • Management of server operating systems on all network servers. Typical tasks include installing, upgrading, and patching server operating systems following strict change management guidelines.
  • Designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and operation of disaster recovery processes, procedures and technologies.
  • Maintain VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.

ProfileKey Skills & Experience:
  • Strong technical understanding across a broad range of technologies and solutions
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated related system management/administration experience required
  • Experience with Cisco, VMware or Hyper-V, and Windows environments required
  • Experience bringing projects to completion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a sincere desire to serve the needs of internal customers
  • Ability and desire to work in a positive, collaborative work environment
  • Azure or AWS experience is a plus
  • IAAS, Hybrid and Cloud Infrastructure platforms
  • SSO/SAML
  • IP Routing
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including Cisco ASA, routers, and switches
