Job Description

The OpportunityOur client is a major Combined Mayoral Authority which is looking to appoint to a range of roles in its transport teams as they gear up to develop their Bus Partnership, test the case for Franchising and progress their Strategic Transport priorities moregenerally.Appointments can either be permanent or interim, for at least 12 months and possibly longer.Salaries will be very competitive and will be based on the demonstrable skills and experience of the candidates. The Role There are a number of roles that require to be filled, mainly in the short term, as detailed below:

  • Bus Franchising Project Director (ref. NJR/GO154a) to act as the Client for the ongoing delivery of the Franchising Assessment, and, if franchising is ultimately approved, to lead the delivery of the franchising scheme or schemes for the Region. Role wouldstart in Q1/Q2 2023. This would be a Senior appointment with a minimum 12 months Fixed Term Contract, extending to 2 to 3 years, if franchising is approved.
  • Enhanced Bus Partnerships (ref. NJR/GO154b). Two mid-level roles to work on all or some of fares / ticketing reform, bus priority, new trial services and Customer Charter commitments. At least one of the roles would start ASAP.
  • Strategic Transport (ref. NJR/GO154c). Two mid-level roles to be appointed Q1 2023:
o Role 1 would focus on national/local highways with additional flexible matrix work across the wider plano Role 2 would focus on Local Transport Plan / Sustainable Transport Strategy with additional flexible matrix work across the wider plan.
  • Public Transport Operations - Deputy Head of Team (ref. NJR/GO154d) to lead / re-design the Team going forward.
  • Public Transport Operations - Mid-level role (ref. NJR/154e) to determine tender interventions / networks and leading negotiations with suppliers.
