This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer, with strong leadership skills and a broad engineering background, to join an innovative manufacturing companies based in Yorkshire.Client DetailsMichael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working with an international industrial business, based in Yorkshire, who have a reputation for supplying high-quality precision engineered products into a variety of customers, both within the UK and abroad.Following extensive company growth they are looking for a Lead Engineer, with a broad engineering background and strong leadership skills, to take on a new position as a part of the senior leadership team.This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer, with strong leadership skills and a broad engineering background, to join an innovative manufacturing companies based in S. Yorkshire.DescriptionThe Lead Engineer will form a crucial part of the senior leadership of this S. Yorkshire based industrial manufacturing company and will lead a team of Manufacturing, CAD/CAM and Process Engineers. They will have responsibility for ensuring full supportto operational production requirements, NPDI optimisation and CAPEX process improvement projects.Other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for manufacturing engineering, tooling co-ordination, CAD/CAM and process improvement engineering
  • Co-ordinating engineering support to all business units through appropriate resource management
  • Managing development of manufacturing processes to improve product margins
  • Adhering to budget requirements
  • Developing high performing teams by utilising relevant performance management processes such as appraisals and gap analysis
  • Achieving agreed KPIs
  • Tackling department challenges with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Promoting best practice with regards to health and safety
ProfileSuccessful candidates will have a strong engineering background and a proven ability to lead teams. You will provide inspirational management and possess:
  • A demonstrable background in engineering and leadership
  • A technical qualification, ideally HNC/degree
  • A proven track record in managing challenging teams
  • Ability to make decisive decisions
  • A broad engineering background covering a variety of mechanical processes
  • Experience of heavy manufacturing industries
  • A successful track record in training and developing talented engineers
  • Experience of workload prioritisation and adaptability
  • A proven continuous improvement skill set
