An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Inspector to come and join our bus client in South Yorkshire on an initial 3-month contract basis to do Section 278 and Section 38 inspections.The main duties of the S278/38 Highway Inspector are:·To be responsible for the management of highway works to ensure they are in line with the Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004, regarding the notification, inspection and monitoring of developer works and minor/major projects. In particular, to both check and advise traffic management measures, pursue minimal congestion whilst maintaining safety and is in line with legislation ·To advise Contractors of compliance with approved drawings and to negotiate and agree alternative construction where on-site complications prevent construction in line with proposed design. ·To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to including both on site working practices and aspects associated with work on the highway and the safety of the travelling public. ·To investigate all issues and report/action as necessary to resolve instances such as: complaints, health and safety matters, member/management concerns and highway network congestion.
