Drivers Direct Recruitment Ltd are one of the largest independent recruitment agencies in the UK for the transport and logistics sector and we are currently recruiting for Category C drivers to work for our client in based in South Kirby.We are pleased to present this opportunity for temporary to permanent work driving Soft compacting vehicle (SCV) – The load you will be carrying is known as offensive waste – such as nappy waste etc.This role will see the successful candidate visiting collection points (schools/care homes/tattooists) waste is bagged up and placed in a bin. Driver pulls bin to back of vehicle and operates vehicle to lift and tip bin then puts empty bin back.Job Details:• Temp to perm position• HGV 2• 11:30 to 12:00 starts• 8.75hrs planned working day • salary £22,500 when permanent• Overtime applicable when permanent for hours worked over 40 – time and 1/3 • Saturday (if worked) paid at time and ½ when permanent. (Saturday shifts available every couple of weeks on a volunteer basis, not essential)• Full training provided• 4 different routes and these repeat so will get to know all regular customers• Anything from 12 collections per day up to 28 per day on localsThis role and Covid – 19• Waste is isolated for 72 hours before being binned at the moment due to Covid)• First week spent training – then will follow permanent driver in a van on his route due to social distancing and view collection procedure from 2 metres• Driver to clean cab thoroughly at end of shift with wipes/sanitiser etc provided as early morning driver will be sharing same vehicleApplicant Requirements -For insurance purposes, applicant requirements are as follows –• Applicant must be 22 years old or over• Must have held applicable licences for a minimum of 2 years• No more than 6 points, and no major convictions• Driver must have or be willing to obtain a full valid DBS checkSo!
