Job Description

Business Manager - Machine ToolsPermanentExcellent commission StructureLeading MT distributorI am recruiting for a Business Manager to cover the Yorkshire area. They are a leading distributor of machine tools for a variety of industries. This may suit a Regional Sales Manager/Engineer or even an Applications Engineer looking to make the next step in their career.Please give Pete a call on to discuss confidentially.Responsibilities

  • This position is following up where the previous incumbent left off, he was highly successful, and the client know this is an area within the country for potential of huge growth.
  • To define and understand potential customers organisations and in particular their decision-making structure, making contacts at all relevant levels.
  • To survey the manufacturing capabilities of all potential customers.
  • To maintain up to date knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and production engineering philosophies in order to discuss these with the customer and to present the clients complete product ranges to those customers as modern solutions to their manufacturing problems.
  • To identify potential opportunities for profitable new investment by prospective customers in the complete product range.
  • To work together with the Presales Team and Sales Engineers on individual projects on a case by case basis, developing sales and marketing strategies in order to maximise order potential and profitability.
  • Carry out commercial negotiations on behalf of the Company within pre-agreed limits in order to obtain the best possible gross margins and sales values for the Company.
  • To produce reports regarding the market situation, competitor activity and any other items within the area of responsibility as directed by the Business Unit Manager.
  • Experience
  • Experience providing high level sales techniques and commercial negotiations
  • Must have a demonstrated history of working in the machinery industry.
  • Knowledge of Cutting ToolDesign, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Management, Tool & Die, and CAD/CAM Software
  • Sales of high value capital equipment into the precision engineering sector
