Job Description

Adeccos specialist Property Services & Building Safety Division are partnering with a large regional based Housing Association recruiting an experienced Asset & Sustainability Manager on a permanent basis to work out of their offices located in South Yorkshire.Job purposeTo manage the effective and efficient operations of the Asset Management service ensuring that all asset data is accurate, comprehensive and fit for purpose.To lead on the development of short, medium and long-term asset investment plans and strategies including specific detailed programmes of work.To lead on strategic asset management issues including asset sustainability modelling, asset reviews, acquisition and disposal programmes and options appraisals.To lead on the delivery of the Environmental Strategy including the journey to Net Zero Carbon within the managed portfolio.Core Duties

  • To take an active role in the delivery of the organisations mission, vision, goals and values, providing positive leadership, management, motivation and purpose.
  • To effectively manage relevant devolved budgets ensuring appropriate control mechanisms are in place.
  • To provide appropriate information that can be presented to the Board with clarity to enable members to deliver on strong governance and best practice.
  • To promote, build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and managers, external partners and stakeholders, multi-agency working groups, national and regional funding organisations to ensure the effectiveness of the service.
  • Maintain, improve and control the asset database, ensuring all relevant data is captured, up to date, accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Develop and deliver the companys Asset Management Strategy and any accompanying action plan(s).
  • Annually review and update the 30 year plan and the ongoing investment programmes.
  • Support the business in achieving its key performance indicators, in particular in relation to sustaining decency standards and improving SAP ratings.
  • Ensure programmes of work are planned ahead and issued for delivery in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders to develop, prepare and submit external funding bids/applications as required.
  • Provide regular progress reports to Executive Management Team, Board or other audiences on the delivery of programmes of works.
  • Support the health, safety and compliance team by ensuring relevant asset data is captured and maintained in relation to compliance matters.
  • Manage the team responsible for undertaking asset surveying and inspections, ensuring the effective collation, analysis and use of this information to guide asset investment and delivery of capital programmes. This includes overseeing the effective deliveryof the stock condition surveying programme.
  • Manage the team responsible for dealing with land enquiries and issues including licences, encroachments, wayleaves and easements.
  • Lead the empty homes and acquisitions service. This will include managing the delivery of the empty homes strategy (empty home loans and grants), and the acquisition and disposal of assets as required.
  • Lead on asset review and disposal programmes as and when required, including managing regeneration scheme decants as needed
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development.
  • A relevant professional qualification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and extensive, proven experience of working within housing strategic asset management and undertaking asset modelling and option appraisal.
  • Detailed knowledge of energy performance in buildings and sustainable business practices and how to build these into long term investment planning strategies.
  • Excellent report writing and strong presentation skills.
  • Understanding of the role of organisations and their regulatory requirements, alongside an awareness of the current and future challenges facing social housing.
  • Robust knowledge and experience of health, safety and compliance issues in an asset management and construction environment and how to build this into investment planning strategies.
Package & benefits
  • £40-50,000 depending on experience
