Wellbeing Co-ordinator - Foodbank - Part Time (Contract)Lewisham & Wandsworth (office/field based, covering multiple Wandsworth Foodbank centres)The OrganisationOur client a national charity committed to building stronger families and brighter lives by delivering innovative and effective services and support that reaches out to many of the UK’s most vulnerable people.Research shows that there is a link between individuals who use food banks and poor mental health. Our client is now working with Wandsworth Foodbank to provide additional support around mental health for those going through financial hardship, poverty and hunger.Our client is now looking for a part-time Wellbeing Co-ordinator to join them for a contract until December 2020, with the potential to extend.The Benefits- Salary of £30,253 - £32,851 pro rata, inclusive of inner London weighting (£11,447 - £12,430 per annum)- Pension scheme- A full induction and ongoing quality training- Employee assistance programme- Flexible working hours- 25 days’ holiday pro rataIf you have prior experience in counselling, social work, therapy or advice work, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise and directly support those going through financial hardship.You will have the chance to positively impact the legacy of an organisation that has been providing specialist support for over 100 years and has over 45,000 families currently using their community-based services.So, if you’re looking for a flexible working environment where you can build on your previously acquired skills to ensure families have the support they need, our client wants to hear from you.The RoleAs a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will deliver drop-in sessions for individuals and families to gain practical and emotional support to improve their mental health and wellbeing.During the week you will work at the Lewisham office and provide home visits for people who are unable to access the food banks due to disabilities and mental health problems.Our client’s Wandsworth Foodbank weekend sessions include locations at Shaftesbury Christian Centre, Battersea and The Yard, Putney.Your role will involve:- Providing friendly, understanding, safe and non-judgemental advice and support- Allowing service users to explain their problems- Empowering service users to set their own priorities- Completing holistic assessments and collaborative health and wellbeing plans- Identifying users’ support needs- Making internal and external referrals as appropriateAbout YouTo be considered as a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will need:- A background in counselling, social work, therapy or advice work- Experience of working with people facing complex social and emotional challenges- Excellent interpersonal skills- An awareness of local and national statutory and voluntary support services and community groupsIdeally, you will be a qualified or part qualified therapist, but this is not essential.
