Job Description

Job Title: Strategy and Engagement OfficerLocation: Westminster, LondonContract Type: 5-Month Contract, Hybrid (On-site and Remote)Salary: £300/dayKey Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Engagement and Strategy, Oxford Street, as well as the Programme Manager and Contract Manager, to fulfill the strategic and engagement requirements of the Program.
  • Assist in formulating a place-based engagement strategy for both the overall program and individual elements within it.
  • Provide support across the programs strategic workstreams, addressing a wide range of pertinent issues.
  • Facilitate program governance and management, including the preparation of Board packs, draft reports, and liaising with governance regarding CMRs (Contract Management Reports) and related matters.
  • Manage program communications and messaging, coordinating with the Councils Communications team to ensure alignment with established project goals and priorities.
  • Foster program alignment with other Westminster City Council (WCC) initiatives, messaging, and teams, cultivating stronger relationships within the Council to advance strategic workstreams.
  • Assist in stakeholder engagement by organising and coordinating workshops, surveys, public events, and consultations.
  • Review engagement reports and all consultation materials to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and other communication materials for both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project cycle.
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities, fostering meaningful participation and collaboration.
  • Strong writing skills with the capability to produce high-quality reports, briefings, and communication materials.
  • Understanding of policy development processes and the ability to analyse and interpret policy documents effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a governmental or public sector organisation is desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Familiarity with community engagement strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
